We had the opportunity to design and develop the official online presence for Thanjavur Art — a distinguished art gallery dedicated to showcasing classic Thanjavur (Tanjore) paintings, one of South India’s most revered and culturally rich art forms. The website represents a legacy of traditional craftsmanship rooted in centuries-old techniques where vibrant colors, intricate embossing, and the use of gold leaf bring historical art to life.
Our goal was to create a visually engaging platform that reflects the beauty and heritage of the artwork while making it easy for art lovers and buyers to explore galleries, learn about the techniques, and connect directly with the artist. The design emphasizes clean layouts and intuitive navigation, allowing visitors to immerse themselves in the vivid imagery of Thanjavur paintings and understand the history and process behind each piece.
To enhance user experience, we incorporated distinct visual design elements that complement the artistic nature of the content — including immersive full-width galleries, detailed artwork showcases, and strategically placed calls-to-action. These design choices help balance rich cultural imagery with modern web aesthetics, ensuring the site remains accessible and engaging across devices.
The site also integrates functionality such as an online shop, clear contact pathways, and artist biography info, all structured with SEO-friendly content and clean semantic markup to improve discoverability.
